Though not too obvious, I have always been on the lookout for things that would make my skin smooth and healthy. I make it a point to try products (makeup and skincare) that would work well with my sensitive skin, and believe me when I say it would be a long journey to find that perfect product.
Once upon a time, I did not have the best skin. I had a lot of dry patches, and you could say that I could use my skin as scratch paper for a blog post. Worse, SAHARA DESERT. Yep, that’s how bad it was. I tried tons of products that promised to make my skin smooth and flawless. I even isolated myself from using the bar soap at home, but none of them worked for me. Luckily, my friend Jean Santos and her Chemical Engineer mom came up with Soaphia, and that, my friends, was the time my vast search for a good soap came to an end.
Soaphia is one of the most natural, eco-friendly, and skin-beneficial bars today. The name “Soaphia” was derived from Jean’s daughter (try to guess what the name is *winks*). Presentation-wise, I really adored how the soap was wrapped and molded (or cut??). It has this unconventional look that made me feel that I was using an eco-friendly soap with no artificial ingredients. Plus points because it doesn’t look like any other soaps I’ve seen and tried! Jean gave me the oatmeal soap, and right off the bat, I already loved it! I am a sucker for everything minty, so the minty smell of the soap to me was divine!
You see, I have already tried numerous oatmeal soaps, but there was something about Soaphia’s oatmeal soap that made my skin more supple and – you guessed it right – moisturized!!! I love how gentle and effective it was for my skin to the point that there’s no need to slather some lotion just to keep my skin hydrated. There was also a cooling effect every after bath!
Like all other oatmeal soaps, Soaphia‘s also had oatmeal bits (?), but it wasn’t as rough as the others when I used it. You wouldn’t feel the oat trying to cut through your skin (lol) because the oats were soft. It’s as if they were submerged in milk first before they were used for the soap, though it would still do the scrubbing for you.
So if you’re the type of person who loves everything handcrafted and natural, YOU SHOULD GIVE THESE SOAPS A TRY! Soaphia also has activated charcoal, coffee, and lemon soap variants which I’m pretty sure would work as good as the oatmeal one. It retails at PHP120, and I tell you it’s worth the price! You can check their Facebook fan Page here and their Instagram account here. I can’t wait to purchase the other three!!!!
